Hi I'm Nicole

I’m the founder of Our Blue Hue, author of Bluebird’s Family Magic, and most importantly, a mom to two incredible children whose lives were made possible through the gift of egg donation.

More than a decade ago, I began a journey I never imagined I’d have to take.

At 33 years old, I found myself facing infertility.

Like so many women, I spent the years navigating IVF—the hope, the waiting, the heartbreak, and the quiet grief that only those who have lived it truly understand.

One morning, I was getting ready to leave for what I hoped would be a chance of an embryo transfer...when my phone rang.

None of our embryos had survived for the day of the transfer.

I remember collapsing onto the floor, tears streaming down my face as my cheek pressed against the cold tile beneath me. After three years of not even getting to "day 3", I thought we finally had our chance.

Even now, I can still remember how cold that floor felt.

In that moment, I couldn’t imagine a world beyond the heartbreak.

But...

What I couldn’t see then was that the dream I thought I had lost was waiting for me in a form I never could have imagined.

Looking back now, that memory still lives with me—but it no longer represents the end of my story.

It reminds me that sometimes, from the deepest places of heartbreak come some of life’s greatest love.

Today, our home is filled with laughter, wonder, and two extraordinary children who have transformed not only my life, but the very person I am.

That journey became Bluebird’s Family Magic.

But it also became something more.

It became Our Blue Hue.

I created this community for the conversations I wish I’d had.

The questions I was afraid to ask.

The stories I longed to hear.

The lessons learned before, during, and long after choosing egg donation.

Whether you’re just beginning to explore egg donation, preparing to share your child’s story, raising a donor-conceived child, or reflecting on your own journey as an egg-donor conceived child, I hope you leave with one simple reminder:
